WHAT ARE BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR RULES?

What are basic English Grammar Rules? To answer this question require a lot of discussions. As everyone knows that the single most troublesome thing to learn a language is learning the grammar rules. And keeping in mind that English grammar can appear to be very simple as compared to another international language. You have to just follow some rules to get mastery over the English Language. Because a little error can change the importance of what you need to say. Let’s talk about the rules what you need to be learned. 

USE SHORT SENTENCES AND USE COMMAS

As a rule, sentences in the English Language are not necessarily long. It is quite amazing for English learners since it implies you don’t have to worry about making long & complex sentences. A sentence ordinarily has two, or perhaps three, clauses (subject + verb + object), connected by a conjunction

A decent method to make your sentences even more clear is to add commas. It is the Commas that assist the readers with understanding where one phrase completes and another starts. The most well-known events where it’s prescribed to put a comma are

• Commas are placed Between Clauses. For Instance, If he will go to the Bazar, he will take some toys for you. 
• If there are multiple items in a list. Separate each item with commas. Such as,  He likes eating, reading, and sleeping.
• It is used for Conjunctions. For Instance, They go to school. However, she was feeling sick.

 

FOLLOW THE ORDER OF SENTENCE 

There are different sentences in the English language. You should follow the order of each sentence. There is a difference between positive and negative Sentences. The order Positive Sentence is based on Subject+Verb+Object. On the other hand for question sentences, the order will be different. Consult the following table.

CORRECT USE OF CONJUNCTION 

If you want to connect two ideas or short phrases, you can do so by using a conjunction. For example,

He is going to school. it is very important for him

Now use the conjunction

He is going to school because it very important

A list of conjunctions are given below

1. and – used for addition
2. because – it is used for the reason
3. but –  describe a contrast
4. or – use it for alternative
5. so – for speaking about a consequence (For example. He takes the exam so that he may pass the exam.)

 

USE ALWAYS RIGHT PAST FORM OF THE VERB

You should use the exact past form of the verb in English. Do not use the present form to talk about the past or future. If you are talking about the past, you must use the past form of the verb instead of using present and future. There are three forms of the verb. Every past form of the verb ends by adding the ed with the first form of the verb. But there are other forms of verbs that do not require ed in their second form. Consult the following table

USE THE FIRST FORM OF VERB WITH THE FOLLOWING 

There is some helping verb that agrees with the first form of the verb. Do not use the second or third form of the verb with the following helping verbs.

Above mentioned Helping verbs always processed with the first form of the verb. These rules are unchangeable and unbreakable in the English language. So it is mandatory to follow these rules.
